 The Gympie Garden Expo will be held at the Gympie Showgrounds, on Saturday May 1,  8am-4.30pm & Sunday May 2, 8am-3pm. The expo will feature brilliant displays of orchids, a large horticultural flower display, 60 different displays includes bromeliads, garden furniture, Wondergrow Products, Horticultural Solutions and guest speakers. Free raffle $500 prize from Melco. Morning tea and lunch available. $5 adults, kids free.

The Imbil Village Artists open their annual art exhibition on Friday, April 30 at the Imbil RSL Hall. The evening kicks off at 6.30pm and entry is free, with drinks and nibbles on hand as you appreciate the collection of local art on display. Entertainment and raffles will round off the evening, where you can also meet the artists and discuss their works. The exhibition continues on Saturday, May 1 and over the weekend until Monday May 3, from 9am-4pm each day.

The race day starts with breakfast at the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club before up to 80 yachts head up the Great Sandy Strait. The Saturday night stop is at Gary's Anchorage on Fraser Island before the final race to Hervey Bay Yacht Club for presentations to winners on Sunday.
