Camping is permitted at several locations in the park.

Wolf Rock Dive Rainbow Beach

WOLF ROCK is a formation of 4 volcanic pinnacles found just off Double Island Point, Rainbow Beach. Considered one of Australia’s Top 10 Dives, this formation provides some of the most exciting diving on the east coast of Australia and is home to the critically endangered grey nurse shark. Carlo Sandblow

Take an easy 600 metre nature walk from Cooloola Drive to the unique natural attraction, Carlo Sandblow at Rainbow Beach in Queensland, Australia. This growing sand dune, which overlooks stunning coloured sand cliffs, covers over 15 hectares. Enjoy amazing views of the coastline and beach which stretches from Double Island Point to Inskip Point at the southern trip of Fraser Island. Coloured Sands

From the Rainbow Beach Surf Club, 4WD or walk about 2kms south along the beach to view stunning sand cliffs which majestically contour the coastline. These awesome Coloured Sands, with a complex array in tones and hues are a unique example of chronosequential dune sequencing. This amazing natural attraction is protected as part of the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park.

Cooloola Great Walk

Walking and camping enthusiasts will love the Cooloola Great Walk through the Great Sandy National Park. This is one of the most spectacular and diverse walking experiences in Queensland. And at 102 kilometres, it is one of the longest. There are four camping areas for overnight breaks and the Cooloola Great Walk will take five days to finish. The walk takes in the very best of Cooloolas outstanding natural and cultural attractions.
