Bicentennial National Trail
With strong historical links to the old coach and stock routes, Kilkivan in the Gympie Cooloola region, is one of the few towns on the Bicentennial National Trail. The trail follows many of the roads and tracks taken by the early pioneers from Cooktown to Victoria. This section of the trail is suited to trips with either horses, mountain bikes or on foot.

KinbombiFalls
Kinbombi Falls, Goomeri
Kinbombi Falls is a popular retreat close to Goomeri.
A well constructed walking track leads to a deep natural pool, at the base of dry falls. Turtles are regularly seen here. An easy track skirts the top of the gorge, offering breathtaking views. A large picnic area with tables, barbecues, toilets and plenty of parking makes this a great spot for a family picnic on a hot summers day.

Mount Clara Copper Mine Chimney
Built in 1870, the Mount Clara Copper Mine Chimney is in a remarkable state of preservation. The structure is about 50ft high and is an example of incredible workmanship. The site is notable for the absence of modern intrusions and as a relic of early mining activity in the district. Located on Rossmore Rd, 11km southeast of Kilkivan, this stone pitched chimney was built using local stone of all shapes and sizes, and is a popular attraction for those interested in old mineral workings.
